CHANGES IN 2012
Pinto
Girls / Boys:
New
this year, pinto leagues will use a regular DLL-2 baseball.
All games will be coach-pitch until the Ice Cream Social. From
there, game will consist of three innings of coach-pitch and the
last three innings will be player pitch. Restrictions will be
placed on pitchers, and the time limit will still be enforced.
Concession Facility Upgrades:
In
2011, we completed some major facility upgrades. We hope to
continue with these upgrades. We are looking to update equipment,
plumbing, wiring, and cosmetics of both concession stands. If you
can help us in any way (time, material, money), we would greatly
appreciate it. We recognize our volunteers and sponsors in a
variety of ways.
PART-TIME TRAVEL
TEAMS
Part
Time Travel Teams:
Part-time travel teams will be made up of players from each league.
These teams will practice separately and play in up to three
competitive tournaments per year. These teams will play a
tournament on Memorial Day weekend, June 22-24, and in mid-July. A
separate tryout will be held, and additional fees will be required.
This is for both softball and baseball.
RAIN MAKE-UP DATES
Rain make-ups
will be the first and third Sunday of each month. Each make-up
date will include games from the preceding time between that day and
the last make-up date (approximately two weeks each). We will
avoid both Memorial Day and July 4th. Games will start as
early as 8 AM on make-up days.

For
more information, talk to your coach or league commissioner.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL
BYB’s
annual Ice Cream Social is Sunday, June 10th, 2012 at the Belvidere Youth Baseball Complex. This is the organization’s major
fundraiser. All-Star games will be played, and food will be served
all day. Please contact Stephanie Tomman at 815-871-9393 if you
would like to help with this event.
Each
team will be required to provide two parents to work a shift at this
event.
ALL-STAR GAMES
These
games will incorporate all second-year players within each league.
Teams will be divided up at the discretion of the leagues coaches
and commissioners with oversight by the executive board.
RAFFLE TICKETS
Each
player purchases 25 raffle tickets at registration (included in
fees). These tickets may be sold and the stubs must be turned in at
the BYB concession stand. Raffle winners are drawn at the Ice Cream
Social on June 12th. You do not have to be present to
win.
CONDUCT
All
players, coaches, and fans should practice good sportsmanship at all
times. Negative comments or taunting will never be
tolerated.
Noisemakers are not permitted at BYB.
Be
respectful towards umpires. They are human, and will make
mistakes. Umpires at the mustang levels are 13-15 year olds who are
working towards their IHSA certifications. Please grant them every
courtesy. Coaches don’t coach perfect games, and umpires don’t call
perfect games.
Please monitor your children who are at BYB with you but not playing
in a game. Batting cages and grass space are for teams to warm up,
not for pick-up games. In the past, vandalism of bathrooms has been
an issue. If this persists, we will be forced to close them and
rely only on outhouses.
Please place all of your trash in a trash can.
