For those of you who have waited anxiously for competitive baseball and softball to come to BYB, your wait is over!  Starting in the spring of 2011, BYB will offer its players the opportunity to play in two to three tournaments in addition to regular league play.  These part-time travel teams will be comprised of each league's top players and will compete in tournaments against other travel teams from northern Illinois and throughout the midwest.

With the addition of this program, the league's top players will be able to compete in regular league games as well as competitive tournaments and additional practices without any interference.  Tournaments will be scheduled at times when our league games are not being played (Memorial Day, during the Diamond Classic, and post-season in mid-July).

Last summer, teams got a taste of competitive baseball and softball by competing in the Diamond Classic.  The tournament hosted 40 teams last year as an independent event.  This year, BYB has taken over the event and expanded the field to a total of 64 teams!  You can visit the Diamond Classic website by clicking the on "Diamond Classic" tab on the left side of the page.
